Word of Art was founded in 2010 by award-winning journalist Arti Mulchand.

This unapologetic news hound grew up in a family of journalists and writers, and was weaned on worn copies of the Encyclopedia Brittanica. It sparked a lifelong love for the written word.

At 18, she did her first newsroom stint and embarked on a career of playing with words. She told the stories of both heroes and villains, and found creative ways to explain everything from flat feet to climate change.

After over a decade of seeing first hand the impact great stories could have, Arti packed up her toolkit and ideas about storytelling to explore how they could be applied to other areas of communication. As an editorial strategist at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, she learned about both the opportunities and challenges of corporate communication and public relations.

In 2010, she decided to write the next chapter of her career and, supported by a great network of storytellers and visual journalists, started Word of Art.
