Arti Mulchand
Director and Editorial Strategist

Word of Art was founded by award-winning journalist and storyteller Arti Mulchand.

Growing up on a staple of novels and worn copies of Time Magazine and National Geographic sparked a lifelong love for the written word.

At 18, she landed her first of four newsroom stints as an intern, and upon graduating in 1998, she embarked on her career as an unapologetic news hound, constantly looking for new ways to tell her stories. By the time she left in 2008, she had risen to the position of Assistant to the Editor at The Straits Times Newsdesk.

Aware of the impact well-researched and well-written stories can have, Arti was keen to explore how her ideas about storytelling could be applied to other areas of communication. Joining the agency world, she learned about both the opportunities and challenges of corporate communication and public relations.

In 2011, she decided to write the next chapter of her career and, supported by a great network of storytellers she respects and admires, started Word of Art.
